YOUR ROLE
  • Product Development Manager for Thermal and Laboratory will oversee the development of new products and management of change projects, guide innovations and technological advances, ensure individual project accomplishments and overall team effectiveness is achieved and champion initiatives to resolve technological-related issues.
  • Conduct product development from concept to commercialization, translate customer needs into material performance requirements, find creative solutions to technical problems, generate novel formulations and use a variety of complex analytical instruments to study raw material and product characteristics.
  • Responsible for the development of new lab test methods and customized testing, increase employees' safety, efficiency and effectiveness through the maintenance and improvement of the SHE and 5S programs, identify equipment need to drive innovation, prepare capital expenditure requests and lead projects to completion and review and approve all expenses for lab supplies and equipment maintenance/calibration.
  • Guide, coach, develop, motivate direct reports in attaining personal goals and business objectives, evaluate project needs to determine employees' assignments and recruit and maintain high-quality personnel.
  • Stay current with technical developments in the industry through scientific journals, patent applications and patented inventions, identify opportunities to capture new IP and supports the preparation of patent applications.
YOUR SKILLS
  • Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Physics from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in industrial research and development.
  • Knowledgeable in chemical engineering fundamentals including fluid flow, heat transfer, mass transfer and reaction engineering.
  • Excellent track record for development of novel testing methods and uncovering relations between material structure and properties.
  • Firsthand experience and theoretical understanding of analytical instruments such as: load frame for mechanical testing, parallel plate and capillary rheometers.
  • Strong with statistics, experimental design, data analytics and/or Six-Sigma certified.
  • Experience with either thermal interface materials or phase change materials is preferred.
