SCHOOL OF CHINESE MEDICINE

Teaching and Research Division

The School of Chinese Medicine established in 1999 and offers comprehensive education programmes in Chinese medicine, including both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy in Chinese Medicine.  The School is engaged in a wide range of research projects, provides Chinese medicine healthcare services to the community, and seeks to foster modernisation of the Chinese medicine profession. To consolidate the strengths of innovative research, the School has established eight high quality theme-based Research Centres equipped with advanced equipment and facilities.  The highlighted strategic research areas in the School include (1) Precision medicine and phenomics study; (2) Translational medicine and innovative drug discovery; and (3) Authentication and testing of Chinese medicines.

Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (PR0037/21-22)

The School of Chinese Medicine now invites applications for faculty position at the Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor level.  Candidates with strong Chinese medicine education background and Western medicine/research are invited to join the School.  Preference will be given to candidates with appealing external grant record, outstanding publication and leading potential of innovative therapeutic intervention in chronic diseases such as neurodegenerative diseases, cancer and metabolic diseases. The appointee is also expected to teach Chinese medicine classics and clinical courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, establish a vigorous research programme in the areas of interest, and develop research cluster by collaborations within and outside the School. Application is open until the position is filled.  

Initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of up to three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
