Call for a Group Leader

The iRCM, a leading research department in cellular and molecular radiobiology, is seeking to recruit a group leader. The iRCM belongs to the François Jacob Institute of Biology, which provides an excellent scientific environment and is located at the CEA center of Fontenay-aux-Roses, 10 km from the historical centre of Paris, with easy access through public transportation.
The iRCM includes over 150 staff members in 15 laboratories affiliated to the CEA, Inserm, Université de Paris and Université Paris-Saclay. Their research covers the fields of DNA repair and chromosome biology, germ cells, somatic stem cells of various organs and tissues (blood, brain, skin), and cancer. The ultimate goal of the iRCM is to increase the basic knowledge in radiobiology and radiopathology and to improve the efficiency and safety of radiotherapy.

Visit our website for more detailed information: https://jacob.cea.fr/drf/ifrancoisjacob/english/Pages/Departments/IRCM.aspx.
Applicants will be selected on the basis of their scientific excellence, the quality of their project and their potential to complement and synergize with other teams of the department. Applications from both Junior investigators and Senior investigators (moving with their team) will be considered.
The selected group leader will benefit from adequate laboratory space, a starting package, and will be supported to apply for additional funding. He/She will have access to state-of-the-art facilities for light microscopy, animal experimentation (including an immunodeficient mouse platform), cytogenetic, cytometry and cell sorting, irradiation, genetic engineering and protein biochemistry.

Applicants should provide a full CV including a list of publications and grants obtained, a summary of scientific achievements (2 pages), a proposed research program (3-5 pages) and names and contact information for three references. Applications should be sent by e-mail to secretariat-u1274@cea.fr as a single pdf file, and should be received no later than September 30, 2021.
