Electronic Data Capture (EDC) programmers work collaboratively with internal/external colleagues, including system vendors, to support Gilead's business objectives by ensuring the consistent and timely development of electronic Case Report Forms (eCRFs) and dynamic EDC system functionality, as well as providing analysis-ready datasets and reporting output.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Performs basic EDC study build activities, including form design and edit check programming.
  • Participates in study team meetings.
  • Works on internal projects and initiatives with guidance and oversight.
  • Interacts with vendors and internal resources in a collaborative capacity.
  • Provide EDC support and administration, both at the individual level and through coordinated collaboration with other internal resources and vendors.
  • Provides support to the study team on all programming matters according to project timelines and priorities.
  • Uses internal standards and programs to automate standard listings, edit checks and reports.
  • Works collaboratively with Clinical Data Associates, Biostatisticians, and Statistical Programmers to meet project deliverables and timelines for eCRF design and clinical data reporting.
  • Developing knowledge of relational database design, data standards, FDA regulations (particularly 21 CFR Part 11), clinical data management systems, and the drug development process.

Key Skills:
  • Basic proficiency in at least one relevant programming language or supporting technologies (e.g. SAS, SQL, C#, Visual Basic, Perl, Business Objects).
  • Basic knowledge of the clinical trial process, relational database concepts, data structures, and best practices.
  • Emerging proficiency in study development and edit check programming within relevant EDC system(s).

Education and experience:
  • BS/BA degree or higher
