The University of Missouri (MU) in Columbia, Missouri and the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center (DDPSC) in St. Louis, Missouri have partnered to address global challenges in plant biology, to facilitate fundamental scientific discoveries, and to enable the translation of these discoveries into solutions for agriculture. Infrastructure investments that include a new $28 million plant growth facility in Columbia and a new $47 million research wing in St. Louis facilitate interdisciplinary plant science. This alliance represents a unique opportunity to collaborate with the vibrant plant research programs at both locations and to enhance coordinated, inter-institutional efforts in plant biology.

The new faculty member will be located on the University of Missouri campus, and will complete a cluster of four joint hires, with two individuals located at each institution. We strongly encourage women, members of under-represented minorities and other under-represented groups in plant biology to apply.

We are seeking a scientist who will address leading-edge research questions in plant biology that complement and strengthen existing research programs at both institutions. A record of excellence in extramurally-funded, collaborative research using creative approaches in any area of science that can be applied to plants is required. The appointed individual will be a tenured faculty member in one or more departments/divisions at MU and a Principal Investigator at DDPSC, and will contribute to undergraduate and/or graduate teaching programs.

To indicate your interest in joining our plant biology initiative, please send a brief CV and cover letter to muddpscsearch@missouri.edu with MU DDPSC Search in the subject line by October 1, 2021. Inquiries will be held in confidence.
