The Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Columbia University in the City of New York is seeking candidates for tenured/tenure-track faculty positions. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have demonstrated excellence in research. The faculty appointment will be in the Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons (VP&S) of Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) and Columbia University (CU).

The Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Therapeutics has launched a major recruitment initiative under the leadership of its chairperson, Dr. Cory Abate-Shen. We are seeking to expand research in basic cellular mechanisms and signaling pathways, with an emphasis on those having demonstrable clinical relevance or translational impact particularly in the areas of cancer, neuroscience, and cardiovascular research. Areas of research interests include chemical biology, pharmacogenomics, cellular metabolism, metabolomics, drug discovery, and systems pharmacology. Candidates should have demonstrated a high level of productivity in their field of interest and the ability to secure external funding. They will be expected to develop an internationally recognized extramurally funded research program and be committed to the educational mission of the Department.

Successful candidates will have a laboratory in the newly renovated space at CUIMC. Faculty in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Therapeutics are associated with the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, hold membership in numerous Institutes and Centers such as the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center, The Institute of Human Nutrition, Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Motor Neuron Center, and have the opportunity to interact with faculty at Columbia University Morningside and Manhattanville Campuses.
