Site Name: USA - Pennsylvania - Upper Providence Posted Date: Jul 8 2021 We are looking for a highly motivated DMPK scientist to join the Discovery DMPK in vitro team based in Collegeville, PA, USA. Reporting to the US Head of Discovery In Vitro DMPK, the position will be primarily lab based and responsible for the delivery of in vitro DMPK data that will influence and direct projects in the discovery phase of GSK's portfolio. The successful candidate will have a strong DMPK background with an established track record of hands on experience with a range of in vitro ADME assays to investigate metabolic stability, protein binding, permeability and DDI potential to support small molecule drug discovery projects. Prior experience in a range of cellular DMPK assays and using cell-based systems (aseptic) will be advantageous. The position will also have a key role in investigating and implementing discovery in vitro assays to support GSK portfolio for biopharmaceutical projects. Previous experience with automated workflows would be a plus. Key Responsibilities: Design and delivery of routine and non-routine in vitro ADME experiments to agreed timelines on consistent basis to support discovery projects Be able to troubleshoot, problem solve and define best practice for in vitro ADME experiments Ability to work flexibly in the high paced environment of discovery research Drive the scientific rigor and integrity of the data collected as well as the derived conclusions Work closely with DMPK SMEs to identify, investigate and implement new in vitro DMPK assays and technologies Report and communicate scientific ideas and results to senior leaders as needed Contribute to the scientific strategy to enhance the value of in vitro DMPK science to support diversified GSK portfolio Contribute to DMPK publication strategy and be able to present DMPK science in internal and external forums Provide technical oversight of outsourced work packages as needed Ensure data integrity and data accessibility through the GSK R&D data domains Ensure compliance with GSK Values and Policies Basic Qualifications We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: BS or equivalent in Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics or related science such as Pharmacology, Biology, Toxicology, Biochemistry, Physiology In-depth experience with routine in vitro ADME assays Experience in interpreting in vitro ADME data Experience and learning aptitude for cell culture techniques and cell-based systems Experience in writing and reviewing in vitro reports for key decision documents Experience with automation and liquid handling systems would be a plus Extensive experience in excel & knowledge of other applications (e.g. Spotfire) Experience in a rapid pace drug discovery environment Preferred Qualifications If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: MS or equivalent in relevant discipline 3-5 years of industrial experience in DMPK departments in drug discovery setting Knowledge of upcoming and innovative in vitro technologies in DMPK field Be process driven and strive for operational excellence Demonstrated behaviours in learning new skills Excellent communication, interpersonal and team working skills Why GSK?
