The primary purpose of the Laboratory Technician position is to organize and inventory frozen research samples (serum, plasma, peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), DNA, RNA) at the ECOG-ACRIN Central Biorepository and Pathology Facility (EA CBPF).
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Freezer inventory Organize and inventory frozen, refrigerated and ambient samples including serum, plasma, peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), DNA, RNA, tissue blocks and slides.
Data entry Enter freezer inventory information into database. Evaluates, accessions and processes cases or specimens.
Equipment maintenance Operates, troubleshoots and maintains freezers according to specific protocols.
Other duties as assigned .
Education
Required: High school graduation or equivalent.
Experience
Required: One year of experience in a clinical medical laboratory or similar setting. With preferred degree, no experience required.
