Postdoctoral Positions in Stem Cell and Cardiovascular Research
Two post-doctoral associate positions are available in the Dr. Lei Yang Lab at the Department of Pediatrics, Indiana University School of Medicine. IU School of Medicine is the largest medical school in the United State. Salary compensation is at NIH scale. The successful candidate will have access to additional generous IU retirement benefit package.
The primary focus of Yang lab is on the roles of human long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in human heart development and cardiovascular disease. Recently, we already discovered some novel lncRNAs showing exciting phenotypes both in vitro and in vivo. We invite two talented members to join our lab to pursue the mechanistic studies. We primarily use human embryonic stem (ES) cells, patient-derived induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells and mouse models. During past years, the lab has published in Nature, Genome Biology, Developmental Cell, Development, Nature Communications, Cardiovascular Research, etc. Additional information of the lab could be obtained from the website: https://medicine.iu.edu/faculty-labs/yang-lei.
The successful candidate is expected to be self-motivated with a recent Ph.D. degree in molecular biology, cell biology or cardiovascular related fields. One position requires solid experience in molecular biology techniques, with preference given to individuals with experience associated with RNA biology or epigenetics. The second position requires hands-on experience of small animal heart surgeries, with preference given to individuals with experience of making mouse heart disease models. Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative research environment and independently are required.
Interested candidates should submit their CV including names and contact information of three references and a brief description of research interest via e-mail to Dr. Lei Yang (lyang7@iu.edu).
