Postdoctoral Associate

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Debasish Sinha (https://www.dsinhalab.com), Department of Ophthalmology, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. A well-trained and talented postdoctoral fellow is needed for a project aimed at understanding the role of autophagy and inflammation in age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Vision loss from AMD is an expanding, major unmet problem due to the aging population. The National Eye Institute (NIH), Astellas Pharma, F. Hoffmann-LaRoche, Generian Pharma, UPMC Immune Transplant and Therapy Center, Research to Prevent Blindness, and BrightFocus Foundation, Inc currently fund the laboratory. This opportunity is open for recent Ph.D. only (less than 1 year of postdoctoral experience). The following areas of expertise are preferred: molecular and cellular biology, immunology and autophagy.
