Position Summary

Seeking a Postdoctoral to join the lab of Dr. Chun-Wei (David) Chen in Systems Biology focused on the epigenetic mechanisms underlying the therapeutic resistance in cancers. This laboratory is skilled in high-throughput CRISPR genetic screens for de novo therapeutic target discovery. They also utilize next-generation sequencing (NGS) for epigenomic and transcriptomic analyses (ChIPseq, ATACseq, RNAseq, etc.), and the patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models for in vivo therapeutic efficacy assessments. In addition, Dr. Chen's laboratory is involved in cutting-edge technology development including high-density CRISPR protein scan, precision epigenome editing, and single-cell CRISPR/RNA-seq. The lab is well funded by several NIH (R37 MERIT, R01s, U54) and foundation (ASH, LLS, ALSF, COSF, SU2C-CRUK) awards.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • A Ph.D. degree in biomedical sciences, structural biology, computational biology or bioinformatics (required).
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English (required).
  • Experience in cell biology, molecular cloning, or animal model studies (highly preferred).
  • Experience in transcriptomic, proteomic, epigenetic, molecular dynamic, or protein structural data analysis (highly preferred).
  • Experience in protein purification, compound screen, protein/protein or protein/compound interaction (highly preferred).
  • Experience in R, Python, Perl, UNIX/LINUX, etc. (highly preferred).
