Individuals who hold a Ph.D. with significant mouse auditory physiology and molecular biology experience are specially qualified to apply.
The main focus of the Shi lab is on animal research in auditory pathophysiology, gene therapy, cellular and molecular biology. The Oregon Hearing Research Center (OHRC) at Oregon Health & Science University is one of the world's leading hearing-science research groups (https://www.ohsu.edu/oregon-hearing-researchcenter). Expertise in the OHRC spans from basic to translational science and from the inner ear to the auditory cortex. The research focus of OHRC investigators ranges from fundamental mechanisms of hearing to the development of therapies for hearing loss.
