Job Details
Postdoctoral position available to study the genetics of a new form of radiation sensitivity that develops in colorectal cancer upon transition from adenoma to carcinoma. The work entails use of patient-derived organoids (PDOs) generated from biopsy specimens from ongoing neo-adjuvant treatment clinical trials for colorectal cancer. Data to date indicate a specific DNA repair signature defines a subset of patients that are good responders to therapy. Further, pharmacologic manipulation of enzymes in that signature results in substantively enhanced responses in PDOs. Clinical translation of these efforts is planned.
