YOUR ROLE
- Oversee external developments in sustainable packaging and organize internally new global packaging development projects
- Develop, steer, and execute the packaging strategy consistent with defined business plans
- Guide the global organization towards sustainable packaging and exploit new approaches, solutions and processes
- Define and help plan resources to meet circular economy targets
- Ensure compliance with Henkel corporate SHE standards, policies, and procedures
- Develop team members regarding leadership commitments, technical and digital competencies
- Ensure that all new packaging meets international recycling, health and safety requirements and other regulations
- Take responsibility for packaging reporting and execute connected workflows/processes to support cross functional teams
- Generate IP (intellectual properties) and secure the freedom to operate in a competitive environment
- Connect cross functionally with stakeholders and actively foster decision making on different management levels
- Engage externally in associations, working groups and industry initiatives
- University degree in Mechanical/Packaging Engineering or Plastic Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in sustainable packaging development, ideally in a FMCG business in an international context
- Strong record in sustainability management is a must have
- Profound knowledge in design for recycling
- Track record in the use and qualification of recycled material in packaging
- Particularly experienced in key plastic packaging technologies, such as extrusion, stretch-blow molding and injection molding
- Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus
- Excellent entrepreneurial mindset combined with the willingness to lead and to drive change
- Outstanding ability to grasp and tackle complex issues together with cross functional teams
- Excellent communications skills with an outstanding capability to transport complicated technical matters across different functions and backgrounds
