The Role

Reporting to the Associate Director CL&D, this role provides CL&D Business Partner support for Gilead Germany.

By the very nature of a rapidly growing and highly demanding business, the demands upon the Commercial Learning & Development function will be wide and varied. Leaders set demanding performance expectations for their businesses and will expect the same from CL&D; balancing pragmatic solutions, flawless execution and the ability to partner & challenge effectively. At the same time, and consistent with the overall culture at Gilead, this role will require someone who is very comfortable in being hands-on.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Manager CL&D

The Core:
  • Develops and coordinates continuous and/or launch training programs for the field, implemented either at outside sales meetings or internally at scheduled intervals.
  • Integration of the Gilead capability framework (ELITE P; Neurocommuncation; Winning Mindset) in all field focused training activities
  • Carries responsibility for HIV training portfolio
  • Manages the development and planning of initial training for new Commercial hires regarding Gilead HIV portfolio
  • Working cross-functionally is the positions core characteristic to successfully develop & implement new training modules and curriculum.
  • Carries responsibility for the GILEAD LMS regarding content innovation, adaptation & update for all indications in close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders (all TAs)


The Add on:
  • Works with outside vendors and internal medical experts to design and construct training materials in the indication mentioned above (e.g. in the development of learning and training tools, content, and curriculum)
  • Provides in field coaching to others or provides input on coaching projects
  • Designs and recommends add on training (meeting current situational needs) programs for field affiliates to improve the knowledge and application of selling techniques
  • Coordinates the involvement of internal and external training experts & participants
  • Build relationships with key stake holders internally & externally e.g. centres of excellence, training specialists, coaches etc.


Characteristics:
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills in order to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict, and drive consensus amongst disparate groups of individuals.
  • Engaged planner, able to formulate, develop and execute training strategy, and effectively manage multiple projects/priorities
  • Strong commercial training skills and thorough knowledge and/or expertise in each area (e.g., commercial skills, core business skills, specialized skills, etc.).
  • Profound familiarity and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for sales (and other) training.
  • Demonstrates ability to conceive, develop and implement training plans of action on time and within budget.
  • Experience regarding creative content management on Learning Platforms
  • Strong affinity to digital learning environment & ideally already experience in remote product and/or skill training
  • Strong capability in leading cross-functional projects within the Sales & Marketing, teams plus Analytics and external vendors.
  • Establishes and maintains positive business relationships in key segments of the Commercial organization
  • Strong lateral leadership capabilities
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant software systems (e.g., MS Excel, MS Word & PowerPoint, etc.) is required.
  • Willingness to travel to Stockley Park, HR team meetings, business meetings etc.
  • Ideally strong analytical and digital skills


Experience
  • Solid related experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry
  • BS or BA degree
  • Ideally of successful Field Sales experience
  • At least 2 years experience in commercial training or health education
  • Fluent in English, German language is a must
