Title: Post-doctoral Researcher
This Postdoctoral Fellow position provides opportunity for growth and development as an independent investigator in NIH and philanthropically-funded research and enhance professional skills in academia. Directly accountable to the Primary Investigator, the Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct specific research projects related to cancer stem cells in CNS tumors. The Postdoctoral Fellow will provide intellectual and technical support to research programs and initiatives. Ability to run and maintain 5 laser flow cytometer is a must. Marcus Neuroscience Institute cannot support visa's for this position.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
*Conducts laboratory experiments related to specific project or initiative.
*Gathers, summarizes, records and interprets data obtained from research projects/initiatives.
*Plans subsequent work with review/approval of principal scientist/investigator.
*Reviews relevant literature to solve problems and contributes to manuscripts and grants.
*Develops experimental and research protocols for the laboratory.
*May instruct others in area of expertise.
*May present research results at internal and external scientific venues.
*Interprets and follows policies and guidelines to define procedures and meet goals/deadlines.
*Performs other duties as required or assigned for which the employee is qualified to perform
Education and Experience:
Ph.D. in biological or related sciences required. Experience in molecular biology, flow cytometry, stem cell biology, and drug resistance required.
Track record of scholarly publication and excellent oral and written communication skills is a must.
