If so, this Investigator - Clinical Histotechnology role could be an exciting opportunity to explore. This laboratory-based scientist will provide histotechnology assay development and application to clinical drug trials within a GCP environment. The individual will evaluate biomarkers in tissue sections from patient biopsies by chromogenic immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), in situ hybridization (ISH), high multiplex imaging mass cytometry (IMC) and digital spatial profiling (DSP) using automated staining methods. Advanced image analysis methods are then used to quantify tissue biomarker expression to drive clinical efficacy and\or safety outcomes. Data is delivered to clinical teams as oral presentations and written reports. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following: Demonstrate a deep knowledge of histotechnology and its application to delivering novel and challenging biomarker assays. Translate a clinical project team's biomarker needs into validated histological assays and act as a scientific expert in discussions on project progression. Develop, optimize, and validate novel single and multiplex IHC//IF/ISH/IMC/DSP methods using automated commercial platforms such as Ventana Discovery Ultra, Leica Bond RX, Fluidigm Hyperion and Nanostring DSP. Be proficient in all aspects of sample processing including embedding, microtomy, frozen sectioning and histochemical staining. Use microscopy, whole slide scanners and image analysis software to generate qualitative and quantitative analytical data and advance the development and application of Artificial Intelligence approaches to support immunophenotyping. Compile reports and write standard operating procedures, analytical methods and study protocols. Be responsible for results, data interpretation, management, archiving and data integrity in compliance with GCP regulatory requirements. Work on multiple projects and adjust priorities to meet stringent deadlines. Provide necessary training and help troubleshoot issues within GSK's histotechnology team. Continually look for new ways to enhance the scientific quality of the groups output. Partner with external companies, e.g., vendors and CROs. Develop trusted connections in the scientific community (internally and externally to GSK) through meetings, publications and presentations at conferences hosted by professional societies. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: MS degree or above in biological sciences, or a relevant scientific field (e.g. immunology, molecular biology, cancer biology, neurobiology) Experience working with inflammatory diseases and/or immuno-oncology is a strong plus. Minimum of 2+ years experience in a histopathology laboratory developing IHC/IF/ISH assays. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: PhD in biological science or a relevant scientific field (e.g. immunology, molecular biology, cancer biology neurobiology). Experience in digital image analysis using commercial image analysis software. Experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical setting. HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification with qualification in immunohistochemistry (QIHC). Why GSK?
