YOUR ROLE
  • Management of the development team for the technology Silicones & Specialties based on silicone, polyacrylate, and modified silane polymers for application in the automotive industry or at their suppliers from the concept phase to production readiness as well as technical management regarding the technical and chemical background, formulation and testing according to customer specifications of the respective development project. Preparation of PPAP documents
  • Planning, coordination and implementation of the development project portfolio of the Silicones & Specialties technology, including cost control and adherence to the time frame of the projects
  • Staff leadership and development as well as targeted talent management
  • Technical responsibility for the current Silicones & Specialties product portfolio with regard to quality characteristics, safety and data maintenance
  • Implementation of formulation optimizations: Cost of Goods, raw material substitutions, adaptation of a formulation to customer processes
  • Contact with customers and raw material suppliers as well as different functions within Henkel; presentation of results both internally and externally
  • International cooperation and exchange with other development groups, technical customer service, external partners, suppliers, universities and research institutes
  • Support of technical center and production in scale-up trials of new formulations
  • Management of the laboratories according to current safety and quality standards
YOUR SKILLS
  • PhD in chemistry/materials science/engineering or similar discipline
  • Professional experience in polymer chemistry, adhesives chemistry or other relevant experience
  • Highly dedicated and experienced leader with significant experience in silicone, silane and SMP chemistry
  • Ability to independently prepare development plans and coordinate research and development work with the team
  • MS Office and SAP skills
  • Very good communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and German. Italian language skills are an advantage
  • Problem solving and organizational skills
  • Cooperative and open-minded personality to work in an international team environment
