ROLE SUMMARY

Pfizer is seeking a talented individual to join our Analytical R&D organization to enable development of biological therapeutics and vaccines. The Scientist position within the Bioassay and Impurity Testing Group will be responsible for supporting the development of bioassays used to evaluate the potency of biological candidates in clinical development. This position will provide laboratory support and contribute data and knowledge to the development of a diverse portfolio of biotherapeutics including monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins, vaccines, and other novel biological modalities. The successful candidate will have general knowledge of the development of immunoassays and cell-based functional assays.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

•Responsible for performing and troubleshooting immunoassays and cell-based, while applying these methods to a broad range of biotherapeutics for early and late stage products in a GMP environment.

•Contribute to development, qualification, transfer of cell-based assays and/or immunoassays

•Documenting and reporting lab work according to GMP practices

•The candidate must be able to interact effectively with multi-disciplinary project teams.

•The candidate is expected to tabulate data, provide data interpretation to their teams and to their customers.

•Revise/review/author test methods and technical reports

Method development, qualification, validation and transfer in a cGMP environment are the primary functions.

•Working within a team setting, the qualified candidate will be responsible for developing immunoassays and cell based assays to monitor the intended mechanism of action of drug candidates. These assays will be used in a broad portfolio including monoclonal antibodies, therapeutic proteins and vaccines.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM: B.S and /or M.S degree in biology, biochemistry, immunology, or related field with 6+ years of experience in developing Immuno-based assays for biotherapeutic drug candidates.

DESIRABLE: Experience in GxP (GLP, GMP) working environment

Experience with biotherapeutic development organization.

Hands on experience or working knowledge in handling of analytical instruments

OTHER ATTRIBUTES DESIRABLE:

• Comfortable and effective in a team-based, fast-paced environment where multi-tasking required

• Comfortable giving presentations in project and group meetings

• Effective verbal and written communication skills
