Postdoctoral positions are available to study HIV-1 and SARS-CoV-2 entry into cells. We apply various biophysical methods including single molecule FRET and cryo-electron tomography to understand the conformational sampling of viral spike proteins, how they mediate entry into cells and yet at the same time evade innate and adaptive immune recognition. Candidates with strong background in smFRET are especially encouraged to apply. Lab members are embedded in an interdisciplinary and collaborative research program that applies imaging across all scales from living organisms to single molecules. Send a full CV and the name and address of three references by email to Walther Mothes (walther.mothes@yale.edu).
