Job Details

The primary role of the Research Investigator (non-laboratory) position is to review and interpret scientific and clinical data from published literature and accessible databases for integration into a Precision Oncology Decision Support (PODS) knowledgebase. This position will support the Institute for Personalized Cancer Therapy (IPCT) Program to bring personalized cancer therapy to the clinic.

Generate content for the PODS/ISPM knowledgebase:

* Applies scientific training to succinctly summarize published knowledge related to genes, protein domains, and classification of genomic alterations according to their functional and therapeutic impact.
* Curates clinical trial eligibility criteria into discrete elements in order to facilitate patient-clinical trial matching.
* Curates drugs for their relevance to biomarkers and/or disease.

Support collection of molecular data:

* Assists Clinical Data Abstractor in setting up and validating requests for annotation of patient molecular testing results, as needed.
* Assists with the collection and entry of patient specific molecular data within IPCT databases.

Support research projects and system enhancements:

* Supports research projects and system enhancements efforts through data collection, entry, and/or standardization.

Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.

Preferred:Master's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Five years of experience in scientific or experimental research work. With preferred degree, three years of required experience.
