A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Mei Kong in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry in the School of Biological Sciences at University of California, Irvine. Qualified candidate will be nominated for a T32 training grant in Cancer Biology & Therapeutics at Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Using a combination of biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology and mouse models, the Kong lab studies how nutrient/metabolism regulates tumor development with a major goal to use metabolites to inhibit tumor growth and sensitize therapeutic responses (Nat Cancer. 1(3):345-358; Nat Commun. 11(1):3326; Nat Cell Biol. 18(10):1090; Nat Commun.10(1):809; Mol Cell, 50(2):200-11; Genes & Dev; 30(16):1837). The candidate should be a recent graduate with a PhD, MD/PhD or MD degree.  The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and have a strong foundation in cell biology, signaling pathways, bioinformatics, epigenetics/genetics, or metabolic related diseases.
