Job Responsibilities (Essential Duties)

Elucidating at a molecular level the role of various novel upstream signaling molecules regulating growth, apoptosis, and survival in cancer cells, with particular focus on cancer cell resistance to therapy.

The detailed mechanism by which these molecules mediate cancer therapy-resistance and how these pathways are activated will also be studied.

The goal will be to design effective combination therapies to combat drug-resistance and advanced cancer progression. These studies will involve utilizing state-of-the-art molecular, cell biology and biochemical work in tissue culture models (in vitro) as well as in animal models (in vivo), and will require thoughtful, independent experimental designing.

The candidate will be expected to work hard with extreme sincerity, develop scientific interactions thus contributing significantly to our project(s) while maintaining a high level of productivity.

Participation in regular data analysis, scientific manuscript writing, scientific data presentations, journal club presentations including grant application and relevant literature readings will also be required.

*Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Job Knowledge & Skills, Education, Experience

Bachelor’s degree in science or related field required. Master’s degree in science preferred.

A minimum of 3 years related research experience.

Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods.

Proficient in specific lab research techniques.
