The Department of Oral Biology at the College of Dentistry, University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking to fill a full time tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level.  The department is looking to leverage the College’s existing strengths in wound healing and tissue regeneration. 

The successful candidate is expected to establish collaborations with both clinical and research faculty at the college as well as with faculty across the engineering and medical campuses at UIC.  With respect to teaching, the candidate is expected to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in wound healing and tissue regeneration for MS, PhD as well as residents.  The candidate is expected to have a history of mentorship of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and dental residents.

Candidates are required to possess a PhD, DDS/PhD, MD or foreign equivalent in a related discipline and research focus in the fields of wound healing, tissue repair, and tissue regeneration strategies.  The candidate is expected to possess good postdoctoral training with an outstanding publication record. The candidate is expected to demonstrate a high likelihood for extramural funding. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven record of accomplishment of funding or with existing extramural support for research.
