YOUR ROLE
- Develop new products in the field of lightweight fiber-reinforced composite materials for the automotive industry in alignment with the Product Development management
- Design and prepare lab formulations for two component epoxy and polyurethane matrix resins
- Test specifications of lab formulations and develop test methods
- Clearly and concisely document the lab work
- Provide customer support including trouble shooting and testing of customer samples
- Scale-up, process and transfer the lab formulations into serial production located at different manufacturing sites
- Plan and organize activities to deliver high-quality results in a timely manner according to the requirements
- Provide support in preparation of project relevant ADP deliverables
- Communicate test results internally
- Master of Science in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering or related field
- Professional experience in polymer chemistry with focus on thermosets, ideally in the product development of epoxy-based matrix resins for high pressure RTM and filament winding processing
- Knowledge of epoxy chemistry and processing know-how of fiber reinforced composites (e.g. resin transfer molding) is desirable
- Fast and reliable lab worker with focus on lab work and process development
- Deployment of digital tools in laboratory management (Albert, electronic lab notebook)
- Programming of CNC machine for test specimen preparation
- Ability for problem solving and organizational skills
- Open-minded team player with good communication skills and hands-on mentality
- Fluent English skills, German is advantageous
