Position Summary

A postdoctoral fellow position is immediately available in the Department of Diabetes and Cancer Metabolism at City of Hope. The lab is focused on investigating the role of metabolic alterations in disease onset and determining if markers of metabolic dysfunction can be used to predict disease risk.

The position requires expertise in biochemistry and analytical chemistry (liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry) as well as cell culture models. Analyses will extend to mouse and human studies. Familiarity with statistical analysis and large clinical datasets is required. We are a highly collaborative group; the candidate will be expected to coordinate investigations both inside and outside of City of Hope and will be required to present their data on a regular basis. This position requires an ability to work independently to collect and analyze data, prepare manuscripts and grants, and design scientific investigations.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • Ph.D.in Biochemistry, Molecular or Cellular Biology, Chemistry, or related field
  • Expertise with biochemical techniques, analytical chemistry, and cell culture systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • Independently collect and analyze data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
