Associate Director, Marketing UK&I - Liver Diseases

Holborn, London (currently remote-based)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced marketer with leadership hallmarks to join Gilead as Associate Director, Marketing within our UK & Ireland affiliate. This recently vacated position (due to internal development) will report into the Marketing Director for Liver/Covid-19.

The successful candidate will be leading our marketing efforts within Hepatitis C as well as helping to support the successful launch of a new product into the UK & Ireland Market. This role will be involving shaping and delivering existing plans as well as building and delivering innovative new ones. This role will ideally involve an element of people management.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic development and implementation of integrated tactical plans aligned to brand strategy to agreed budget and schedules. This includes activities across the marketing mix with a heavy focus on building digital marketing capabilities in this market and evaluating success.

  • Demonstrate leadership excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects and priorities, including close working with agencies procurement and relationship management.

  • Develop a strong partnership with Global teams enabling a positive working relationship whilst inputting and representing UK needs into global planning

  • Leadership of brand team working across departments and aligning with other liver/covid-19 brand teams demonstrating ownership of its goals. Representation of brand team to senior leadership. Seamless interface with medical/marketing/market access

  • Spearhead and lead effective working relationships and effective engagement plans with NHS Therapy Area Experts and other key stakeholders to strengthen Gilead's position within the liver space as well as building insights.

  • Continually monitor environment and leverage market research/analytics to optimise marketing plan and tactics. Driven by insights and innovation.

  • Ensures that all marketing activities are in compliant with Gilead SOP and ABPI/HPRA Code of Practices

    Knowledge Requirements

  • Expertise and track record of successful leadership of marketing plan development and implementation, budget management and proven success.

  • Leadership of cross functional initiatives, plans & strategy with proven results

  • Strong team ethic and proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

  • Good knowledge of UK & Irish Healthcare environment

  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining a strong network of NHS Therapy Area Experts

  • Good analytical skills, demonstrated by the ability to identify and understand complex issues and then leading appropriate cross-functional solutions

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing are required.

  • Advanced planning and organisational skills, including ability to follow tasks/assignments through to completion

  • Demonstrated understanding of external and internal pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials is required

  • Liver experience of benefit but not essential

  • Direct leadership experience and development of teams are high desirable

    Specific Education & Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree in Life Sciences or Business/Marketing

  • Post graduate Marketing qualifications well received

  • Demonstrable pharmaceutical sales and marketing experience

  • A solid record of marketing leadership roles

  • Impactful presentation and interpersonal skills
