Essential Duties and Job Functions:
  • Work with Asia HIV Lead on early development of a variety of HIV-related projects, such as Medical Affairs Advisory Programs, Post-Conference and New Hire Trainings, Content Development, Data Generation and Publication. He/she will provide independent thought and initiative in the further development of specific projects and ensuing presentations and reports
  • Engage with and support Gilead affiliates in Asia for their local meetings and KOL interactions to educate and differentiate regarding the Gilead HIV portfolio
  • Participate in subteams or working groups for portfolio management and strategy, and support the successful delivery of the Global Medical Plan of Action
  • Work with team members from different regions for Global Medical Affairs activities and globalization subteams
  • Prepare for and attend major HIV conferences, support conference coverage and deck development, and help coordinate Medical Affairs activities at conferences
  • Work closely with Asian country medical teams, as well as collaborate with other cross-functional teams including but not limited to Medical Affairs Operation, Medical Affairs Learning and Development, Public Affairs, Government Affairs, Clinical Operation, Commercial and Marketing, and Legal
  • Other activities, as assigned, to support Global and Asia HIV Medical Affairs


Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
  • Ideally the candidate will be an MD, PharmD or PhD with clinical practice or pharmaceutical experience in HIV, but other life sciences degrees can be considered
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Existing contacts with HIV providers, advocates, institutions and/or hospitals in Asia preferred
  • Good strategic thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to successfully lead the ideation, development of a plan and move to action
  • Possess a willingness and ability to work hands-on and with a sense of urgency, in a fast-paced, scientific, entrepreneurial environment
  • Solid working knowledge of regulatory and compliance environment
  • Effective organizational, project planning, and time management skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present to and engage with a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to travel frequently (+/- 30%)
