The People Technology Director is a new and exciting role within the HR People Technology team. Reporting to the Senior Director, People Technology, you will be a key member of a growing and passionate team focused on growing digital capabilities to power Gilead's people agenda. You will be primarily responsible for the strategic roadmap operational performance of ServiceNow's HR platform. In addition, this role will also help drive the continued digital transformation in HR as we enable mobile platforms for Workday and ServiceNow and incorporate user adoption platforms (WalkMe) to provide consumer grade user experiences for Gilead's employees when interacting with HR. Critical to the success of this role will be your ability to understand the needs of our end users, and the ability to translate these needs into practical applications, ensuring that concepts get fully executed into product offerings that achieve a defined business outcome.

You will have a combination of leading high performing teams, business insight and tried experience in HR Service Delivery as well as the entrepreneurial mindset that enables you to build a business case for how the People Technology Team should take advantage of an opportunity.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Transform business needs from the customer to tangible items within ServiceNow HRSD application, from using modules available to the platform or creating new modules and direct and help complete detailed documentation for workflows and services implemented within ServiceNow.
  • Act as the Product Manager with responsibility for technical/functional areas within the ServiceNow HRSD product, mobile HR delivery, and user adoption platforms.
  • Leverage expertise with the ServiceNow, Workday and WalkMe to ensure we have innovative, automated and consumer-grade HR business processes for all employees, including mobile access where appropriate.
  • Maintain product roadmaps and backlog for products and services, including developing and prioritizing product proposals and user stories.
  • Actively shape HR transformation roadmap by identifying key technology enablers including support of Gilead's evolving service delivery model and employee experience.
  • Coordinate and execute application and platform upgrades and create ServiceNow reports and dashboards.
  • Advise partners in our HR centers of excellence (i.e. Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, etc.). Develop and nurture a relationship and understand needs, prioritize technology enhancement, and uncover opportunities for improvement and automation. Champion the employee and business stakeholder experience with all partners.
  • Understand and apply external industry trends, particularly around emerging technologies and operating models.
  • Collaborating with vendors and other clients of vendors on future design releases that benefit Gilead including networking, staying current on future release functionality, and participating in user forums to provide feedback and build consensus with other clients.
  • Support Gilead HR in adopting ServiceNow governance, development lifecycle, migration and testing best practices.
  • Establish program governance, outcomes and measures, scope and recommend project resourcing. Organize teams, structure the work and set timelines through comprehensive project plans, and ensure timely deliverables, assessing risks and anticipating obstacles.
  • Provide ongoing recognition, feedback, and development, holding team members accountable for success.


KNOWLEDGE
  • Minimum education and years of relevant experience, including experience in biotech/pharma sector and/or professional services (e.g. consulting, finance, legal, and/or corporate experience in a relevant function)
    • B.S./B.A. + 12 or more years of experience
    • M.B.A./Masters + 10 or more years of experience
    • PhD + 8 or more years of experience
  • 5+ years of relevant leadership experience within consulting or forward-thinking HR organization is required Relevant work experience with the ServiceNow HRSD platform with demonstrated advanced understanding of ServiceNow's HR product offering in a shared services environment
  • Previous successful track record for implementing ServiceNow HRSD module (HR Case Management, HR knowledge management, Virtual Agent, live chat)
  • Leading ServiceNow HRSD projects and work-streams through discovery, design, build, test, and deployment activities leveraging agile deployment methodology
  • Expertise in establishing user journeys and creating the user stories to support the design and configuration of the Employee Service Portal, Knowledge Management, and Case Management capabilities
  • 3+ years of HRIS/HCM system experience (Workday experience required)
  • Full life cycle HR transformation and service delivery implementation experience with large complex delivery
  • Hands-on leadership and project management to ensure deadlines are met and key deliverables are always accurate
  • Experience building and delivering against business cases
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment, using creative approaches to problem solving
  • Proven ability to build credibility and trust with a diverse audience and be perceived as a leader


Preferred
  • ServiceNow Certifications (Certified Implementation Specialist - HR, Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer)
  • Workday Certification (HR modules)
  • Lean/Six Sigma/Agile
  • Experience working in a regulated environment
