A postdoctoral fellow or a Senior Scientist position is available in the Moores Cancer Center, University of California San Diego, to study function and therapeutic potential of protein modification by a ubiquitin like modifier ISG15 in cancer and immune responses. We recently reported that protein ISGylation is strongly activated by interferon signaling to regulate a subset of interferon stimulated gene expression and promotes a tumor-suppressive microenvironment (Cancer Discovery, 2020, 10:382). Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree. Research experience in areas of protein biochemistry, drug screen, immunology, signal transduction, or cancer biology is highly desired. Applicants for the Senior Scientist position should have at least seven years of postdoctoral training experience and excellent manuscript/grant/scientific writing skills. Competitive salary and benefits will be provided and the position is available immediately. Applicants should send a cover letter, CV and the contact information for three professional references to Dr. Dong-Er Zhang, dez@ucsd.edu.
