Principal Scientific Researcher, Neuroscience- nociception

Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Scientific Researcher (PSR) with a background in Neuroscience and expertise in pain biology and in vivo models of pain. The PSR would join the Translational Neuroscience to lead in vivo pk/pd and efficacy studies to support drug development for pain and neurodegenerative disorders. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing in vivo models of chronic and neuropathic pain and imaging or electrophysiology biomarkers for pain signaling. The ideal candidate would also have experience with in vivo models of neurodegenerative disease. The individual will be required to communicate data to project teams and to collaborate with other departments as part of a larger diverse and multidisciplinary team.

Who You Are
A BS/MS with at least 5 years of industry experience or a PhD with at least 3 years of industry/lab experience in a relevant field (Neuroscience, Biology, or related field) is required.  Experience with pain research specifically models of neuropathic pain or chemotherapy induced pain), in vivo handling and conducting necropsy is essential; the ideal candidate should be comfortable with multiple dosing methods, including p.o., i.p., i.v., and i.t. The ideal candidate will be competent in a broad set of in vivo skills including behavior, histology, qPCR/in situ hybridization, and electrophysiology.  In addition, the candidate should be meticulously organized with outstanding time management skills. A strong understanding of statistics is required.
