Role Summary:

This is a laboratory-based position within the Vaccine Research and Development - Analytical Development organization. T he candidate will perform routine sample testing, analytical method development and assay qualification studies in support of early vaccine development. Assays are primarily based on standard analytical separation (e.g., HPLC, SEC, CE, IEX, etc.) and spectroscopic (e.g., DLS, UV-VIS, fluorescence, etc.) techniques.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • In this position, the individual will perform sample testing in support of process and formulation development, release, stability, and characterization of vaccine as well as adjuvant candidates.
  • Document experiments, analyze data, and provide conclusions obtained from assay development and sample testing experiments contemporaneously in either an electronic or paper notebook as directed.
  • The individual will execute assay verification and qualification studies for vaccine or adjuvant candidates.
  • Draft laboratory methods and method qualification reports.
  • Where applicable, perform job responsibilities in compliance with the GLP requirements.
  • The individual is expected to contribute and participate in general laboratory maintenance activities (e.g. maintenance of equipment, managing laboratory waste, etc.).


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline plus 2 or more years of related work experience, or MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline.
  • Experience with utilizing various modes of chromatography is desired.
  • Experience with analyzing lipid nanoparticles, liposomes, or other type of adjuvants is a plus.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written skills.

  • Standard laboratory conditions - sitting, standing, primarily lab based
