Indiana University School of Medicine – Terre Haute will be hiring a postdoctoral associate interested in investigating the role of the metabolic cytokine adiponectin in protection from infection with the human pathogenic fungus Aspergillus fumigatus. Research will be focused on how adiponectin influences host antifungal responses and immune effectors in the balance between protection from infection and initiation of immune pathology. Further information on lab research interests and publications may be found at https://medicine.iu.edu/terre-haute. The minimum requirement is a Ph.D. in microbiology, immunology, or related field. A competitive candidate will possess a strong background in cell and molecular biology, microbiology, and immunology techniques, including microbial culture, flow cytometry, quantitative PCR, and animal model development. The successful candidate will speak and write English fluently and have published in peer-reviewed journals.

The initial appointment is for one year and can be extended an additional year. Future extensions would be based on funding.
