Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor

Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care and service is seeking applicants for a tenure track faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology in the School of Medicine (https://www.slu.edu/medicine/medical-education/graduate-programs/pharmacology-physiology/index.php).

The ideal candidate will complement current areas of expertise of the existing Pharmacology and Physiology faculty in the area of metabolism, broadly defined as the cellular or physiologic processes regulating energy consumption and utilization, and diseases associated with disruptions in these processes including but not limited to obesity and type 2 diabetes. Candidates with research programs focused on inflammation, metabolomics, muscle or adipocyte biology, or gastrointestinal physiology are encouraged to apply. While the position sits in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology, candidates involved in related discipline, such as drug discovery, structural biology and chemical biology are also encouraged to apply. Candidates for employment as Assistant Professor will be expected to develop an innovative, extramurally funded research program, participate in the educational mission of the Department, and engage in University service. Applicants for employment at the level of Associate Professor will be expected to have current external (NIH) funding.
