The Division of Anatomy at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH invites applications for open rank full-time faculty position (non-tenure Clinical/Education track) with a specific focus in Neuroanatomy. This position is well suited for a candidate who has a specific education or research focus in neuroanatomy while also having a strong basis in one or more of the other anatomical subfields (Human Gross Anatomy, Embryology, and/or Histology).

Candidates are expected to have earned a doctorate in Anatomy or a related field and possess a strong record of excellence in teaching. Candidates will be expected to support the teaching mission of the Division of Anatomy in neuroanatomy encompassing all levels of students including undergraduate, graduate, professional, and post-doctorate education. Additional expectations include delivery and facilitation of Case-Based or Team-Based learning. Successful candidates are also expected to engage in collaborative research commensurate with their level of development. Academic appointment at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor will be commensurate with the candidate’s background and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Full-time teaching load in multiple levels of instruction on both lecture and laboratory courses with a specific focus in neuroanatomy. Responsibilities will include collaborating with other faculty on curriculum development within anatomy courses in a team-based environment.
  • Mentor undergraduate, graduate, and/or professional students in research projects in the applicant’s area of expertise.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in the anatomical sciences or equivalent.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants with 2-3 years instructional experience.
  • Strong background in neuroanatomy.
  • Evidence of potential for successful teaching at the college/university level.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interprofessional skills.
  • An eagerness to engage with colleagues, staff, and administrators to develop improvement of educational experiences for our students.
