The National Institute on Aging (NIA), a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is recruiting for Postdoctoral Fellows in the Neuromuscular Diseases Research Section of the Laboratory of Neurogenetics of NIA. These positions, funded by the NIA, are located in Bethesda, MD.
The Neuromuscular Diseases Research Section, under the leadership of Bryan Traynor, M.D., Ph.D., focuses on identifying the genetic causes underlying neurological diseases (Renton et al., Neuron 2011; Aude et al., Neuron 2018; Chia et al., Nature Genetics 2021; and Saez et al., Science Advances 2021). In addition, they collaborate with other laboratories to pursue neuroscience research. More information about the laboratory can be found at https://irp.nih.gov/pi/bryan-traynor.
The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for assigned projects and is expected to write and publish manuscripts and give presentations at international meetings. Eligible applicants should have a Ph.D. or related degree in genetics, bioinformatics, or another computational-related field. An ideal candidate will have a strong interest in analyzing next-generation sequence or genotype array data, ideally in the context of neurological diseases.
