In order to drive innovation, maximise patient value and provide strong, visible Medical leadership in each of these areas Global Medical Disease Area Heads are in place, accountable for leading the formulation and execution of disease level medical strategy within Oncology (including life cycle management) across one of four areas: Hematology, Women's Oncology, Solid Tumors and Cell and Gene Therapy. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following… The Medical Program Manager, Women's Oncology is a key TA Medical role, reporting in to the respective Disease Area Head. In serving as a program manager, facilitator, and coach for GMALs and TA Medical Affairs Teams in developing plans for and supporting the execution of core medical affairs processes, the role would benefit from extensive knowledge of the matrix operating environment and all the systems/processes required to drive successful performance. Reporting directly to the Disease Area Head, the Medical Program Manager is a critical role providing project management leadership across Global Medical disease area and asset activities. This includes (but is not necessarily limited to) driving implementation of Global External Engagement Plans; ensuring delivery of promotional and training materials, budget planning and tracking and performance metrics design and reporting. The role enables the Disease Area Head and GMALs to focus on Scientific strategy and content by serving as the process driver and navigator of the environment in which our teams are operating. The role defines critical paths and helps their assigned disease area team navigate that path successful in developing their plans and delivering them on-time and on-budget. Key Responsibilities: Planning Responsible for driving development of Medical Affairs Plans: Manages inputs from GMAL and team Contributes to and challenges strategy and tactics Ensures Medical Affairs plan alignment with overarching disease area plans Budget and resources Drives development of variable budget and headcount on basis of Medical Affairs plan Drives development of business case(s) Monitors variable budget on an ongoing basis Ensures Medical Affairs IRM updates Ensures appropriate resourcing for GMAL team and requirement from supporting groups Enablement, execution and performance Ensure on-time progress in all areas where the Disease Area Head/GMAL is accountable Secretariat/facilitator at asset GMAT Supports development and reporting of performance metrics, in collaboration with Business Performance and Engagement Role and Business Operations Partners with Disease Area Head and GMAL around required preparations and material for key activities and engagements (e.g. GMLT or PLT plan reviews) Other May lead scientific projects (aligned to development needs) at Disease Area Head's discretion May be requested to support internal change and/or continuous improvement projects to embed ‘fit for purpose' processes and ways of working in the Franchises Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Bachelor's degree, PharmD Knowledge of ADP/ Project management / Lean Sigma / business continuous improvement principles Minimum of 3-7 years experience within the pharmaceutical industry. Other industry experience can also be relevant if strong project management skills have been proven Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Certifications in ADP, project/programme management and/or Lean/Six Sigma preferred. However, a track record of timely delivery of complex Medical Affairs / R&D projects would be considered. Understanding of core Medical Affairs processes (e.g. Medical Planning, Scientific Engagement Planning, Copy Approval) is preferred Analytical, logical thought process with proven track record of strong matrix management, facilitation, and project management skills Effective time management, ability to clearly identify priorities and manage multiple tasks Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, communication skills, strong collaborator/communicator Understanding of the lifecycle of pharmaceutical drug development and commercialisation Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and database management skills Preferred: Familiarity with existing GSK platforms (e.g. eTrack, Team Site, and GSK intranet) Why GSK?
