ASSOCIATE RESEARCH SCIENTIST
DEPARTMENT of ANESTHESIOLOGY
The Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks an Associate Research Scientist to investigate the roles of anesthetics in surgery-associated brain alterations in animal models of postoperative cognitive dysfunction, using a combination of techniques including two-photon laser scanning microscopy, mouse genetics, electrophysiology, computational analysis, and behavioral assays. The ideal candidate should have experience in live animal calcium imaging and MATLAB analysis. Additional duties may be assigned as required.
Qualified candidates must have a PhD, MD, or both. In addition, three to four or more years of research experience is also required. The university offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. This position falls under a collective bargaining agreement.
