Principal Scientist/Sr Principal Scientist, Interactomics-Department of Microchemistry Proteomics & Lipidomics

Description
We are looking for a highly motivated Principal Scientist/Sr Principal Scientist to lead the Interactomics group within the Microchemistry Proteomics & Lipidomics (MPL) department. The successful candidate will oversee a basic research and technology program responsible for identifying novel transient intracellular protein-protein interactions, and exploring their roles in disease biology. A key part of the role will be characterizing the protein complexes and their dynamics of therapeutic interest.  This position will also oversee the Receptomics team and will be responsible for the automation and informatics infrastructure associated with studying protein interactions. The Principal Scientist/Sr Principal Scientist will craft the vision for the team that balances basic biology and technology development. The position will require strong leadership/mentorship skills and being able to work in team environment across multiple departments.

Who You Are

  • The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Mass Spectrometry or Biochemistry or related discipline with + 6 year’s experience post PhD. The successful candidate must be able to work independently to develop a research program while developing close working relationships with scientists from a wide variety of therapeutic areas.
  • Strong candidates will have most of the following skills:
  • Strong working knowledge of protein interaction technologies e.g. Apex, Bio-ID, protein complex dynamics analyses.
  • Experience in Automation
  • Passion for exploring and developing new technology
  • Self-motivated, hard-working, dynamic and curious person with good communication and problem solving skills.
  • Established computational skills for analyzing large-scale screening data in the context of publicly available data resources.
  • Strong publication record evidenced by multiple first or last author papers
