Title

Asst Epidemiologist II

SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the Assistant Epidemiologist II is to provide professional and administrative assistance in designing and analyzing biometric studies in addition to overseeing overall study coordination.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Statistical Functions -Develop and implement statistical procedures and programs for data cleaning, manipulation, and analysis
-Design and implement simulation programs to test statistical models and newly developed methods
-Make figures and tables, assist with preparation and distribution of results
-Prepare written summaries of statistical methods

Data Management Functions -Create and maintain study databases in Access and RedCap
-Collect data and abstract clinical information from medical records
-Maintain data entry for laboratory and medical history databases
-Design queries to retrieve information from databases and generate reports

Study Coordination -Conducts overall study coordination working closely with other study staff.
-Manage database for recruitment and progress reports.
-Collects, processes, and stores biological specimens and research data according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
-Maintains a tracking system for research related paperwork.
-Assist with submitting, amending, and renewing institutional review board (IRB) protocols as needed.

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or Biological Science. Five years of experience in the gathering, analysis and presentation of statistical data including biometrical research and supervision. With preferred degree, three years of experience in the gathering, analysis and presentation of statistical data including biometrical research and supervision is required.
