POSTDOCTORAL SCHOLAR – Transcriptional and Epigenetic control of metabolism – Dr. Sona Kang Lab at UC Berkeley
A post-doctoral position is available in the lab of Sona Kang at the Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology at UC Berkeley (https://nst.berkeley.edu/users/sona-kang).
Our research mission is to identify the core transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms underlying the conditions, validate the physiological significance, and to develop therapeutic interventions. We apply multiple traditional wet lab techniques global profiling studies as well as genetic mouse models. We are seeking self-motivated and collaborative scientist to perform science with a high level of critical thinking. Applicants should have an expertise in one of the following areas: molecular and cell biology, metabolic phenotyping of mouse models, and global profiling studies. PhD candidates with soon expected graduation are also encouraged to apply.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate should have a demonstrated interest and expertise in one of following areas; 1) characterizing metabolic phenotypes in mouse models, 2) performing genome-wide profiling studies such as ChIP-Seq and RNA-Seq, 3) performing CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing studies.
