The Gilead Business Services center in Raleigh's Research Triangle region will be home to some of the company's critical shared service teams in North America, including Information Technology, Global Financial Solutions, HR Operations and Procurement Services Desk. These functions provide the necessary support to ensure Gilead's business runs effectively and efficiently. Specific Responsibilities & Skills:

Gilead IT is seeking someone with a passion for helping people learn and adopt new technology through training initiatives. This new role will be an important part of IT's new internal creative agency, helping the team facilitate large-scale transformation initiatives through creative, appropriate and timely training opportunities to promote adoption of technologies throughout the company.

For instance, when the company offers a new platform for video conferencing, this person will work with colleagues in the division to create or leverage simple, impactful and effective training courses in a variety of mediums to ensure that employees understand and use the new platform.

The IT Training Content and Delivery Specialist will report to the IT Employee Experience Lead. This role will directly support the IT Organizational Change Management (OCM) team and will actively collaborate across IT and supporting business functions, including Human Resources.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:
  • Conduct training needs assessment and identify training requirements, and learning and development gaps
  • Identify training needs and ensure development of high quality new and on-going training interventions
  • Work with subject matter experts and technical leads to identify key training needs and opportunities
  • Plan, organize, and implement a range of training activities, including formal and informal on-the-job, classroom, print, in-person, virtual (video and audio), and mobile training, both self-led and instructor-led
  • Design and develop training plans, curriculum and content independently or with vendor assistance for cross-functional IT projects
  • Ensure that all content is the highest quality, creative and compelling, and aligned and integrated with the appropriate corporate, cross-functional, and functional messages. Be comfortable with hands-on production of final deliverables to ensure consistency and reinforce values to support Gilead's vision.
  • Ensure all training activities follow regulatory and legal requirements
  • Create and adapt curriculum for a variety of audiences and learning delivery methods.
  • Design multi-level blended learning based on user requirements and training needs
  • Assist other teams by contributing to and reviewing training materials, knowledge base articles, outage notifications, etc.
  • Develop train-the-trainer programs and provide train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts
  • Provide training to new hires as well as existing employees and contract staff
  • Maintain existing training programs and content; develop and manage internal IT Training webpages
  • Contribute to project SharePoint sites; familiar with Office 365 Suite
  • Maintain appropriate records of training activities
  • Identify and remediate instances of existing information that may conflict with new training content
  • Develop training standards, templates and framework
  • Manage learning management system and/or training database, as required
  • Enroll participants, schedule courses, maintain a training calendar and book training rooms/Zoom meetings
  • Evaluate training effectiveness, provide feedback and adjust
  • Manage the training budget and project timelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Available to travel up to 25 percent, domestically and internationally


Basic Qualifications:
High School and Nine Years' Experience OR Associates Degree and Seven Years' Experience OR Bachelor's Degree and Five Years' Experience OR Masters' Degree and Three Years' Experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of training or educational experience
  • 2 or more years in IT and/or healthcare a plus
  • Some experience managing cross-functional teams or projects; and influencing management and key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated expertise in training and coaching
  • Strong familiarity and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for training
  • Ability to simplify complex, technical concepts and make them human, relatable, and visual
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills and experience with the following:
    • Developing and organizing content that will be distributed online (i.e. writing for the web)
    • Explaining technical concepts to non-technical users
    • Presenting to and managing questions from large groups
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to quickly learn
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Collaborates and works well across teams
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Comfort working at a fast pace and with ambiguity and contribute to cross-functional initiatives
  • Self-motivated, highly collaborative and possesses a great attitude
