ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
The Wisconsin Blood Cancer Research Institute (WBCRI), in collaboration with UW Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) and several departments at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (School of Medicine and Public Health), is recruiting a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a cutting-edge, extramurally-funded, independent (and collaborative) research program focusing on normal or malignant hematopoiesis and related areas. This opportunity will allow the scientist or physician-scientist to develop a major research program on basic and translational science relevant to blood cancer. The highly supportive scholarly environment resides in state-of-the-art facilities. The successful candidate will be a member of WBCRI and UWCCC, an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center, which provides outstanding collaborative opportunities and exceptional core facilities, including flow cytometry, informatics, metabolomics, circulating biomarker, genome editing/animal models, pathology and small animal imaging among others. Research programs utilize genetic mouse models, human pluripotent cells, primary human samples and diverse systems to address problems on normal and malignant hematopoiesis, including regulatory networks controlling stem and progenitor cells, bone marrow microenvironment, cell therapeutics and mechanisms underlying myeloid leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: innovative models to understand hematopoiesis, genome/epigenome biology, hematology-immunology interface, single-cell biology and multi-omics. We offer competitive start-up packages, including substantial salary support, and a dedication to facilitate career development. The University of Wisconsin-Madison is committed to diversity, and we strongly encourage applications from candidates who foster and promote the values of diversity and inclusion. UW-Madison is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
