Program Director Columbia University New York, NY, NY Job Description The candidate will serve as the Program Director of a new program in the Mailman School of Public Health that is focused on preventing pandemics. The Program Director will help design and coordinate both online didactic and in-person training in basic and applied microbiology, epidemiology, bioinformatics, and bioethics.
Master’s degree in Epidemiology or equivalent in training and experience, with at least four years of directly related experience.
Ph.D. in microbiology or epidemiology, MD or DVM
Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and computer (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.) skills.
Experience with grant funding. Strong background in complex research design and management of research projects; writing and publication record in molecular biology, immunology, cell biology, microbiology, and/or biochemistry. Outstanding diplomatic skills are required along with an ability to set goals and make decisions independently; thrive in a complex, demanding, and fluid environment.
