A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Dr. Radwanski laboratory in the Bob and Corrine Frick Center for Heart Failure and Arrhythmia at the Ohio State University. Our lab is investigating the role of sodium channel-containing nanodmains in arrhythmogenesis. We use an array of techniques and models including optical mapping of ex vivo hearts, conventional (patch clamp) and fluorescence-coupled electrophysiology (patch clamp in tandem with rapid confocal calcium imaging) and scanning ion conductance microscopy-guided single-channel recordings (aka smart-patch). This position is for an applicant who will use cellular imaging and electrophysiological techniques to assess perturbations in sodium channel function within various nanodomains. Successful candidates can be involved in multiple projects to enhance productivity and training objectives to develop novel skillsets commensurate with the applicant’s career goals.

Preferred expertise: Prior experience with cellular electrophysiology is preferred. Expertise in cell culture and molecular biological techniques as well as calcium imaging are also of value. Postdoctoral fellows and PhD students in the final stages of their degree are encouraged to apply.

Appointment: Applicants will be reviewed immediately and until the position is filled. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

How to apply: Interested applicants should e-mail Dr. Przemyslaw Radwanski ( a cover letter, CV, and the names and contact information of three individuals willing to provide a letter of reference.
