Professor and Endowed Chair Position

Director, Gynecologic Cancer Program

Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Cancer Center (CC) and Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology are seeking applications for Director of the Gynecologic Cancer Research Program. This individual will hold the first Linda G. and Herbert J. Buchsbaum, M.D. Chair in Gynecologic Oncology. The successful PhD, MD or equivalent degree candidate will be expected to develop, implement and lead strategic growth of the Gynecologic Cancer Research Program. The MCW Cancer Center is simultaneously investing $100M in five parallel research initiatives that include Immuno-Oncology, Metabolomics, Structural & Chemical Biology, Precision Oncology, and Community-driven Research using Restorative Justice. This endowed leadership position will help build and integrate the Gynecologic Cancer Program with these major cross-disciplinary research initiatives. Qualified candidates will have an outstanding record of research accomplishments and significant extramural funding. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a vigorous, creative, externally funded research program in cancer initiation, progression, metastasis, diagnosis and/or therapeutics. Candidates will have an exceptional opportunity to develop collaborative research programs across the MCW campus and eight CTSI institutions. In addition to an Endowed Chair, this position comes with a competitive start-up package.

The Cancer Service Line is the largest in the health system portfolio, delivering high-quality cancer care to over 5,000 unique new patients annually and follow-up care to a substantial portion of cancer patients in Southeast Wisconsin. Investigators have access to a large variety of cancer specimens through a CAP approved Tissue Bank. Supported by a strong clinical, clinical trials and basic science team including a gynecologic oncology fellowship, this position is expected to significantly expand the gynecologic cancer research portfolio.
