The primary purpose of a Research Assistant II is to provide routine technical assistance in performing assigned duties of various research projects

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Research Laboratory Functions

1. Perform routine Molecular Biology & Immunology experiments.
2. Generating Tissue Microarray (TMA) and testing panels of biomarkers.
3. Assist in the collection of tissue culture and protein, RNA, DNA analysis; perform experiments in cell-based assays, Western blotting, and PCR assays.

Record Keeping

1. Record keeping of all lab work including experiments performed and database of samples received & processed.

General Laboratory Maintenance & Supplies

1. Help in maintenance of general lab equipment and assist with Lab inspection.
2. Prepare common laboratory stock chemicals; Submit all orders for the lab and maintains supplies inventory.
3. Monitor sufficient supply of liquid nitrogen to maintain the best temperature for frozen samples.


Education
Required:
Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.

Experience
Required:
Two years experience in scientific or experimental research work. No experience required with preferred degree.
