The Sr Research Associate must be able to provide technical and coordination skills in carrying out various in vivo projects, must have technical expertise in performing surgical procedures on mice with preference for those with expertise in intraovarian, intrauterine, and mammary fat pad models. Will perform animal model related duties in accordance with general and specific plans. Perform injections via intravenous, intraperitoneal, subcutaneous or oral routes. Perform animal surgery, which requires use of anesthetics. Collect tissue, blood, or ascites samples. Perform euthanasia and dissect organ and tumor for downstream analysis. Perform whole body imaging. Plan and performs data collection and design for clinical and research projects. Work alone or in team with the Principal Investigator and other lab members. Interact with lab members and others in constructive manner using English spoken and written language.

Plan & Coordinate Experiments & Programs
Responsible for organizing, initiating, and supervising experiments with the PI. The ideal candidate must have previous mouse handling experience. Carries out complex in vivo experiments including those related to tumor microenvironment and metastasis. Can perform animal surgical procedures independently and supervise other lab personnel to perform surgical procedures. Oversee emergency notifications from the veterinarian staff.

Data Analysis and Reporting:
Conducts experiments involving complex data analyses including analysis of surgical models, microarray and deep sequencing data analyses, data mining, and collecting and reporting bioinformatics and statistics data within ongoing research projects. Performs detailed protein and RNA analyses including functional testing. Identifies new methods for processing high-throughput data and analyzing data.

Database and Protocol Management
Maintains research databases for assigned research projects and makes necessary changes and enhancements required including coding, editing, and data field conversions. Insures that clinical and research data collected is entered into the appropriate clinical and study databases for all projects and is reported as required to the Institutional Research Board (IRB), national registries and other required sites and agencies. Retrieves, maintains, and catalogs databases from outside reference laboratories. Collaborates in manuscript preparation and grant submissions.

Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.

Preferred Education:
Master's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.

Experience Required:
Three years of experience in scientific or experimental research work. With preferred degree, one year of required experience
