The Department of Biological Sciences at Binghamton University is seeking candidates for a full-time position as Instructional Support Associate, beginning Fall 2021. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing materials and cultures for laboratory courses including cell biology and zoology
  • Assisting with course development
  • Providing instructional support and assistance for laboratory courses including cell biology
  • Working with teaching assistants to familiarize them with the protocols and instrumentation used in the courses
  • Setting up instructional laboratory spaces, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ordering supplies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or related field
  • Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills
  • Must be comfortable working with a diverse group of people

Preferred:

  • Master's degree
  • Prior work experience at the college level
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting in teaching laboratory courses
  • Training or experience in cell biology
  • Demonstrated experience in mammalian tissue culture techniques
  • Demonstrated experience with fluorescence microscopy
  • Demonstrated experience with Molecular biology techniques and instrumentation
