Applications are invited from enthusiastic and talented individuals for a senior research scientist position focusing on the use of lipid nanoparticles to deliver immune agonists, antigens and gene therapy in a translational research program.

One position is available immediately in the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford (MIPS) (http://med.stanford.edu/mips.html). MIPS was established as an inter-disciplinary program in 2003 and brings together scientists and physicians with expertise in imaging and therapies to create a rich training program. Within this position, the applicant will develop lipid-based particles to deliver agonists, antigens and chimeric antigen receptors in the context of novel immunotherapy protocols. The project is funded by the National Institutes of Health and other sources. This position will remain open until filled and is currently approved as a fixed term, renewable position.

The successful candidate’s main responsibilities will be to:

  •  collaborate with a scientific team,
  •  and contribute to scientific papers.

The successful applicant must have a PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or a related area with direct and substantial experience in the synthesis and characterization of lipid nanoparticles. A record of scientific publications in the drug delivery field with specific expertise in liposomes and lipid nanoparticles is required.  Exposure to molecular imaging, flow cytometry and molecular biology are also important but not required. The ability to interact with a diverse group of scientists and a proven track record in scientific management are highly desirable.
